JOHN MAYALL

19th of June, 2010
PKO Bratislava

John Mayall is a living legend of the blues and bluesrock. The number of his concerts in this year's tour is just a bit smaller number than his age: John Mayall is almost 77 years old, the tour in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and USA from March to August has 60 gigs on the schedule!

John Mayall played first time in Bratislava in 1985, he sold out the amphitheater at the Budkova. The amphitheater doesn't exits anymore, and John is still touring. His last concert in Bratislava was thirteen years ago. Since then he has made several great albums, played hundreds of concerts, which delighted millions of fans of good music around the world.

Mayall does not like pigeonholes - in addition to blues and bluesrock he is inspired by the jazz, funk, fusion and jazzrock. A brilliant musician, without tie, conventions, or genre preconceptions. In addition to talent, experience and energy John Mayall is still one of the biggest stars in the concert world. Moreover, he launched the careers of other megastars, especially in the sixties: such as Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce (later Cream), Mick Taylor (later The Rolling Stones), Peter Green and John McVie (later Fleetwood Mac), Andy Fraser (later Free), Jon Hiseman, Dick Heckstall-Smith and Henry Lowther (later Colosseum), and many others. Mayall has an unerring sense for the future musical personality and his performance in the group to function as an effective catalyst for the emergence of new bands.
John Mayall comes to Bratislava on the 19th June with his New Band, whose include the legendary guitarist Rocky Athas, bassist Greg Rzab, drummer Jay Davenport and keyboardist Tom Canning. The new album "Tough" is the 57th John Mayalla official album, first with the new teammates. Whether you're a fan, an avid collector of his albums, or you know just a few Mayalls evergreens - you have to come and see this concert.
