Pianist and composer Alan Bartuš is one of the most prominent artists in the world of jazz under the age of 30. As a semi-finalist in the world's most prestigious competition – the Herbie Hancock International Jazz Piano Competition 2023 – he ranks among the top 10 jazz pianists of his generation.

Bartuš is a laureate of many competitions, such as the Langnau Jazz Piano Competition (CH), Dave Brubeck Composer & Pianist Award (US), Ö1 Jazz Prize (AT) and ARTEDEA Award (AT). He has also won awards in classical music competitions. In 2025, he was included in the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 Slovakia ranking in the arts category.

Alan Bartuš is a graduate of the prestigious Manhattan School of Music in New York, where he became an active member of the vibrant jazz scene. He regularly performs on stages such as Lincoln Centre, Dizzy's Club, Smalls, Performing Arts Centre (PAC NYC) alongside musicians such as Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts, Bob Hurst, Jerry Bergonzi, Tim Armacost, Melissa Aldana, Gregory Hutchinson, Tony Lakatos, Rodney Green, John Riley, Dezron Douglas and many others.

He is currently presenting compositions from his upcoming album Deep Roots – a powerful original project that combines tradition with the modern jazz aesthetics of the New York school. He will be joined on stage by his father Štefan Bartuš and the outstanding drummer Michael Ode, Alan's regular concert partner on the New York scene, also known from Kenny Garrett's band.

He performed at the Bratislava Jazz Days in 2017 at the age of 16, on the young talent stage.
